FSB - IRISH RED ALE
FSB - IRISH RED ALE
FSB, we love you. We love you because of your bitter hoppy madness and rich red color. We can see you coming and we always think we’re prepared. But you get us every time! It starts strong and finishes even stronger!
Okay, what the hell have we been drinking? Besides our local favorites like Stone Brewery and Ballast Point, nothing but the best BASSWOOD BREWING COMPANY beer! Plug, plug, plug, I should be ashamed. Hum? Nope not really.
Okay onto the reasoning for FSB. It stands for F$&#!ing Speed Bumps. Not just small roll overs, we’re talking teeth slamming, tank stopping, curb cousin pain in our butt speed bumps. Oh, did I mention we have a total of 10 each way from the public street to our block. Yep I’m sure there’s more than a handful of you out there that know exactly what I’m talking about!

AVIARY - CREAM ALE
Our summertime, "I don’t like beer", watching your figure or fixing the car type of beer. We like it and so will you. It starts refreshingly light with a simple and mild hop flavor and finishes smooth and silky. It’s one of the local favorites, which is why we always keep it on tap!
3.5% ABV
The Google definition of Aviary is "A large enclosure for holding birds in confinement." So you may think, hmmm, maybe we named it Aviary because of the metaphorical struggle between our Black Crow, the darkest of our Ales and Aviary, the lightest of our Ales.
Nope. It’s really simple. Aviary is a street in our community. After a long day at work, turning onto Aviary has always meant we were leaving the traffic, the office, and the stress of the world behind us and we were almost home to enjoy a relaxing afternoon and a nice cool refreshing Basswood Ale.

HOA - HEFEWEIZEN ORANGE ALE
When I think of a good hefeweizen, a few things come to mind: hanging out with good people, a nice night out on the patio, and that little hint of orange that I dropped in my glass. With a glass of HOA in your hand, you will always have plenty of those times to go around!
BLACK CROW - IMPERIAL CHOCOLATE STOUT
This is our darkest of the brews and not for the weak. A full-bodied beer with the flavors of chocolate, espresso, vanilla, and whiskey. This is one of those beers people say you could sit down with a knife and fork because it’s like a meal. For those who don’t typically order stouts and porters, try this one. It will change your mind.
Here at the Basswood Brewing Company, one of the things you’ll start to become accustom to are our crows. They’re everywhere! And whenever we look at one of these majestic birds soaring above, we can’t help but think a crow is probably one of the most recognizable birds in existence. Not only recognizable, but a crow almost always conjures up an emotion. The connection for us was the rich dark color of our brew and how emotional we became after this stout first slid across our tongues. Just as you’ll always know and remember a crow, you will always remember our Imperial Chocolate Stout: BLACK CROW.

- ALWAYS ON TAP
© 2009 BASSWOOD BREWING COMPANY ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
We at BASSWOOD BREWING COMPANY make no true claim to actually being a real brewing company, because that would mean we made real money. We can’t stress this is simply not the case. As much as we’d like it to be the case, it just is not. But, we’d love to share it with our friends and believe me we’ve got some friends!
I’m sure you're asking why HOA? Well for starters, Hugh was taken!! I know that was bad, but at this point, you had to see that one coming. We love HOA because our hefeweizen is like any HOA. When you get one for the first time, you aren’t really sure what you are in for. Everything is kind of cloudy and you keep asking your friends and neighbors, “Am I going to like this?” Unlike where you live now, we can guarantee you're gonna like this HOA!

105 - INDIAN PALE ALE
Here is our India Pale Ale! Okay, so why use the long name instead of IPA? Well, I guess we’re tired of explaining it to our friends. When they take a swig, their mouth puckers followed by a hesitation and a slow exhale. Then instantly a smile is snapped across their face. The response, a cheerful “YEAH!” Then they ask, "What is this?!!" Now multiply that a gazillion times (we have a lot of friends), you get it.... now go out and get a 105!
105 octane? Number of batches to get it perfected? Pounds of Hops used? What the heck is105?!!!! BASSWOOD Brewing Co. is about community, friends, family, and lasting memories. It was created by a small group of neighbors, These friends all share a vision. A vision of taking risks, making something exciting, and starting new. The numbers 105 join them together, literally and symbolically. Still intrigued? I guess you’ll have to ask the next time you stop by and enjoy a 105 with us!

RENOVATION - LONDON BROWN ALE
Renovation, our classic brown. We love this stuff! It’s not too dark, not too light, finishes dry with a bit of sweet malt flavor. If Guinness and Newcastle had a one-night stand, Renovation would be the bastard child.
Why the name Renovation, you might ask. Well it all started about 30 years ago when our community (to remain unnamed) voted in the most crooked bunch of board members this side of any prison walls. They swindled away most of the monthly dues for years until there was nothing left for repairs! So the chatter amongst all of us here at the unnamed community is how much this damned Renovation is gonna cost us and when is it gonna happen!
